Over half of students in Baltimore City Public Schools come from low-income households. Nearly 90% identify as Black or Hispanic — groups traditionally underrepresented in STEM. Student-athletes face additional barriers: the time demands of sport make it harder to work part-time and close the financial gap.
Baltimore Scores in STEM was founded in 2020 by JHU student-athletes who wanted to give back to the community that shaped them. Since then, we have awarded two scholarships to bright young Baltimoreans. With your help, we can reach many more.
