Baltimore Scores in STEM was created to support students in Baltimore City Public Schools who are pursuing careers in STEM fields (science, technology, engineering, and math).
The goal of Baltimore Scores in STEM is to provide an annual scholarship award, in addition to mentorship, to deserving Baltimore student-athletes who are enrolled or are planning to enroll in a STEM program at an accredited institution of higher education.
Baltimore Scores in STEM was founded in 2020 by a group of student-athletes at Johns Hopkins University. Inspired by the work of education-oriented organizations in Baltimore as well as the generous philanthropic endeavors of Hopkins alumni like Mayor Michael Bloomberg, this group of students set about making their own mark on the Baltimore community. Hoping to reach Baltimore youth with a similar passion for athletics and STEM education, this 501(c)3 nonprofit organization was formed to support annual scholarships and a mentorship system for Baltimore student-athletes pursuing STEM careers. Since our founding, Baltimore Scores in STEM has awarded two scholarships to bright Baltimoreans in support of their college education in STEM. Learn more about our scholarship recipients here.
